"When, Lord did we see you hungry? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you?" Matthew 25:37-38
At Loaves & Fishes we foster the growth of a caring community of guests and volunteers. We serve free meals to all who come (Lunch at noon, Mon-Wed-Fri; Dinner at 6 PM, Tues & Thur); and we provide information and referrals to those who need them, and facilitate outreach from the area agencies. (The Tompkins County Health Nurse is available bi-weekly to address medical concerns).
Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County, Inc. was founded in July 1983 as an ecumenical ministry of hospitality and advocacy. It is devoted to fostering a community of people who care for and serve each other. Our Free-Meal Program depends on many modest local donations and we are grateful for the broad-based support that we receive from the local community. We welcome about 115 guests each weekday and serve over 3000 meals each month without charge. Our guests include the unemployed, persons with inadequate public assistance and their children, recipients of mental health services, the disabled, the working poor, transients, the homeless, people in crisis, and anyone in need of companionship. We are open to all who come.
Many come because they are hungry for food, but the need for love and acceptance is an apparently greater need. For many who come, loneliness and despair seem to have replaced the peace and joy that God intends for us all. We have no simple cure for the broken-hearted, but in some small way we can share the dignity and respect that is due all member of our community.

World Outreach Ministry Foundation (W.O.M.F.) is a non-profit organization dedicated reach out to the unreached people of the World with the Gospel of Jesus Christ using every known tool of evangelism! We are there to take the territories of Africa for God and lift high the sovereignty of Jesus wherever the soles of our feet should trod. We are not only teaching the love of God but showing the love of God.
In 1987, called by their church, the DeVores traveled to Uganda, Africa, landing there just 15 months after the end of more than 20 years of civil war. They were sent to assist a young Ugandan student, on summer leave from Bible College in Seattle, WA, to see how the church could help the Ugandan, Steve Mayanja, plant the first ever Evangelical church in his village.
Now, more than seventeen years later, the ministry has blossomed into thirty five churches in Uganda, two in the neighboring nation of Sudan, two in Kenya amongst the Masai tribe and one in the Congo.
Further they have now founded eight schools, two bible colleges, minister in more than fifty prisons with hundreds and even thousands being born again annually through the work of their full time prison staff, care full time for more than four hundred and thirty orphans through their Feed His Lambs program founded in 1995, and are presently building many new church and school buildings
