Foundations and Leadership of the Worship Ministry
Worship is a vital ministry in the fellowship of Agape Bible Church. Pastor Chip is the Worship Leader and Overseer of this ministry. Pastor Mike and Pastor Chip were connected by the Lord in 1985, when Pastor Mike served as an Assistant Pastor at First Assembly of God in Ithaca. They eventually collaborated in an outreach program in Berkshire, NY. Soon after, Agape Church welcomed Pastor Mike as their lead pastor. Within a year, Chip joined Agape as the worship leader. He was then ordained as an Elder and, in 2000, as Assistant Pastor.
Growth and Participation in Worship
Over the years, worship at Agape has grown and diversified under God's guidance. College students, Agape attendees, and occasionally believers from other fellowships have participated in worship services and events. Joe Salzano also joined the worship ministry later. A talented musician, composer, and arranger, he contributes to worship services and orchestras.
Fostering Worship Teams and Spiritual Engagement
Pastor Chip developed several worship ministry teams over the years. He often delegated the leadership of worship services to individuals, varying in age and spiritual maturity. His goal has always been to guide people into God's presence and allow space for the Holy Spirit's work. He has also sought to instill this goal in the teams he develops to lead services. During worship services, numerous experiences have unfolded: individuals have welcomed the Lord into their lives, spiritual gifts and exhortations have arisen from the congregation, and the hearts of both the congregation and visitors have been drawn to worship Him and open up to His presence.
